Martin Kerr

Martin Kerr is president and founder of Flat Creek Construction. He has over 25 years of experience in construction and real estate development. His expertise includes land development, financing, product development, construction, and sales.

Mr. Kerr’s diverse product experience includes suburban homebuilding, as division president of Centex Homes/Nashville, TN, and Lillian Floyd Homes, a division of The Crosland Group, Inc. He has completed more than $300 million of notable residential projects, including over 1,500 “for sale” homes. As general manager and division president of Crosland Contractors, Mr. Kerr led the development and construction of apartment, condominium, retirement, and affordable housing projects.

Mr. Kerr is a licensed general contractor and licensed real estate broker. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College, with additional coursework in accounting and business from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

Tom Wheaton

Tom Wheaton has worked in the real estate development and construction business since 1985. He has experience in all phases of residential building, from cost controls, code compliance and safety standards to closings, warranty and customer service. As production manager for MI Homes, he led a team of 17 employees closing 250 units annually.

In addition, Mr. Wheaton has extensive experience in commercial multifamily building. Since 2007 he has managed all aspects of multiple townhome and apartment projects for Flat Creek. Most recently, he supervised a major apartment project, renovating 166 units. Mr. Wheaton’s experience also includes serving as vice president of Alexander-Wheaton Homes, building custom homes in Cabarrus and Forsyth Counties, NC.

Mr. Wheaton is a licensed general contractor. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida, with additional coursework in economics and management from Appalachian State University.

Judy Edwards

Judy Edwards serves as project manager for Flat Creek. She has over 30 years experience in construction. Her expertise includes estimating, product development and project management. She has worked for The Crosland Group, and Centex Real Estate Corp., among others, on projects ranging from small single family subdivisions to multi-unit condominiums, apartments, and assisted living.

Mrs. Edwards is a licensed general contractor. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design and a Master’s degree in housing management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Eric Pryor

Eric Pryor brings over 15 years of construction experience to Flat Creek. As community construction manager for a national homebuilder, Mr. Pryor was responsible for quality assurance, cost control, safety compliance, supervision of subcontractors and homeowner orientations. He has carpentry experience in wood-frame construction and interior/exterior trim on additions, renovations, custom and commercial up-fits.

Mr. Pryor is a licensed general contractor. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University, with additional coursework in business administration from Gardner-Webb University. He has also completed courses in building construction technology and electrical technology curriculums.

Sharon Wasielewski

Sharon Wasielewski has worked in construction since 1982. She has some 20 years of experience in purchasing, estimating, cost reporting, bid solicitation and inventory management. With Flat Creek, she regularly interacts with municipalities to apply for permits and request inspections. She works with customers on making selections and interpreting design specifications. She also works with vendors and suppliers to assure that materials are delivered to the job site on time and within budget.

In 2001, Ms. Wasielewski passed the Residential Exam of the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Limestone College, SC.
